Green Building

Greenbuilding programs require close collaboration between the builder, evaluator and architect to ensure project success.

At the heart of green building is the simple idea of building in a way that protects our children's right to enjoy the same privileges we grew up with. The house, after all, is often the touchstone of a family.

Green building can be considered the art and science of sustainable construction, where "materials and methods [are] used to construct and maintain a structure that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." As with any type of construction, green building relies on solid building science and the established construction means and methods that are derived from it.
